RRP&F: Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where and why? Give us all the details.

J+C: Chris lived with my cousin right after college. We have been close since we were little so I was there all the time. It didn't take long to realize there was undeniable chemistry between us.

RRP&F: When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?

J+C: I wouldn't say there was any "ah ha!" moment, it was just a feeling I had when I was around him that I never felt with anyone else. And sometimes as much as I wanted to be mad at him, I couldn't haha, so I knew there was something special there.

RRP&F: Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)

J+C: We had known each other for 7 years, had been dating seriously for 4 when chris proposed. It was a Wednesday night in the kitchen after I got home from the gym. I didn't see it coming but I wouldn't say I was surprised either, and I had always joked he would pick a random day and just do it in the kitchen casually which is exactly what he did. The proposal was so him, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

RRP&F: Besides getting married – what's the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

J+C: The party!! I can't wait to have all our close friends and the two families together under one roof to celebrate. That's probably never going to happen again.

RRP&F: Anything additional you'd like to add.

J+C: I did the flowers and the all the decorations myself! My friends at Little Ink Studios helped with the calligraphy signs, almost everything was DIY.

RRP&F: Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where and why? Give us all the details.

A+J: James and I first met when I transferred to The College of New Jersey in the Fall of 2010. He and I had a class together first semester. We were both attracted to one another, but didn't actually talk until the Spring Semester of 2011. Spring semester of 2011 we had 3 out of 4 classes together, and were forced to spend a lot of time together. Needless to say, the rest was history!

RRP&F: Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)

A+J: James proposed on Christmas morning 2015. He wrapped the ring in a small box, within a bigger box, within a bigger box, within an even bigger box. When I unwrapped it and got to the smaller box, I was suspecting something shiny in the box but didn't want to get my hopes up. As I unwrapped it, James was behind me down on one knee where he asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes!

RRP&F: If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

A+J: Not really silly or quirky, but every morning James makes sure to give me a kiss when he gets out of bed or before he leaves the house.

RRP&F: Besides getting married – what's the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

A+J: Seeing James at the end of the aisle as I walked down it. In the past when I pictured my wedding day, the person at the end of the aisle was just a figure. Now, I am able to fill in that picture.

RRP&F: Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where and why? Give us all the details.

A+S: We first met back in 2009 at work, Iccara (a small family owned Italian place in yardville, nj). Scott made a bet that the Broncos (Alicia's team) would lose their game against Pittsburgh and if he won, he got to take her out. That's exactly what happened and here we are almost 7 years later!!

RRP&F: When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?

A+S: I think we knew pretty instantly that we were made for each other. We started dating November 7th and by that New Years we told each other we loved each other

RRP&F: Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)

A+S: We got engaged while we were down in key west for a friends wedding. She got married on our 5 year dating anniversary and the following day we took a sunset cruise. Scott popped he question there...totally did not see it coming he caught me 100% off guard! It was perfect, just as the sun was setting! We were so excited!!!

RRP&F: Besides getting married – what's the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

A+S: Looking forward to seeing all of our hard work for the last almost 2 years come together. Were also excited to see all of our friends and family that are coming from near and far! And obviously the dancing!

RRP&F: Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where and why? Give us all the details.

S+M: We met in pre-calculus class during our junior year of high school. Michael was a classic underachiever who slept through classes, whereas Sasha was a diligent student and one of the top in their class. While Michael was drifting off, Sasha would secretly be watching him and wondering what he was like. One day they were randomly paired up for a partner test. Michael was elated as he thought she would save his grade, Sasha was ecstatic to finally have her chance to talk to him. It didn’t take long for them to realize that neither had a clue about the material on the test. So rather than waste the effort, they decided to draw and talk instead. They ended up talking through the entire class period. Both of them felt amazed at how effortlessly they were able to converse. It was almost as if they had known each other all along. Then life went on as usual, until one day Sasha no longer showed up to class. Michael was disheartened to find out that she had moved to Michigan. Michael learned of Sasha’s return about a month into their senior year, when she yanked on his backpack and said “Michael Damiano, how’s it going?” They spent the next few minutes between classes catching up about the end of last school year and then parted ways again. The next encounter they would have would be the one to change everything: the day that Sasha gave Michael “the note.” Sasha had spent nearly two weeks revising this note and finally had the courage to hand it to him one day as lunch was ending. She approached him, said “I want you to have this” and then hastily exited the cafeteria. As he opened the note, Michael felt his heart begin to race. The note read: “I just wanted to let you know that you randomly make me smile. I keep getting these hilarious images of you carelessly sleeping in pre-calc. I hope we can talk some time. I’m curious about the end of last year after I moved. And how close to passing you were…” The next day, Michael asked Sasha out on a group date, which he showed up to with a bouquet. After an amazing first date, Michael asked Sasha to be his girlfriend. Later that year, Michael took Sasha to prom, just like she had dreamed of. The rest would prove to be history.

RRP& F: When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?

S+M: We have had a long journey since then. After high school, they both went off to college. Sasha got a full-ride scholarship to William Paterson University, while Michael went to BCC and William Paterson, before finally finding his place at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Sasha graduated in the spring of 2011 and promptly got a job as a Spanish teacher. Michael graduated in the Fall of 2014. After several difficult years of only seeing each other on weekends, Sasha finally moved in with Michael’s family and, at last, their long-distance relationship had ended… Sasha knew Michael was the one only 7 months into their relationship when they went to prom. Reflecting on the 7 wonderful months she had spent with him and the feeling she would get when looking into his eyes, she knew he'd be the one she'd eventually marry. As for Michael, he wouldn't have even bothered asking me out if he couldn't see himself spending a long time with me. He doesn't recall there being a precise moment when he knew Sasha was the one.

RRP&F: Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)

S+M: On December 6, 2014, Michael drove Sasha up to Mitsuwa Marketplace in Edgewater. After some shopping and a nice meal, Michael suggested that they take a walk along a path by the Hudson. It was rainy and cold and the water was rough. Clearly seeing that Sasha was still agitated by sitting in traffic for hours, Mike decided to stop and talk to her. He began to speak, “You know, it took a while to get here, but we made it. We’re right where we wanted to be. It’s kind of like our relationship. It’s taken a long time and we are finally where we always wanted to be.” With the New York skyline as a backdrop, Michael got down on one knee and asked Sasha to marry him. She gave him a teary-eyed yes and a long kiss. From a crush, to high school sweethearts, to betrothed; they have shared one amazing experience after another. And finally, after almost 11 wonderful years together, they will tie the knot in front of some of the most fantastic family and friends that anyone could ever hope for.

RRP&F: If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

S+M: Sasha often makes goofy noises. Michael flicks people's noses.

RRP&F: Besides getting married – what's the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

S+M: Unanimously, the food.

RRP&F: Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where and why? Give us all the details.

M+R: We met over drinks at lure restaurant in soho in November of 2013. It was a quick date as Ross was a single father and had to get back home to Gemma. We got on the phone when we got home and spoke every day since.

RRP&F: When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?

M+R: In a way we both knew it could be forever from our first date. Over time the proof so to speak kept building but we both felt there was something special and so we nurtured the connection with great care.

RRP&F: Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)

M+R: We did a lot of the planning together in terms of when was right for our family to get married. There was a general sense of timing and planning together but despite that Ross pulled off a surprise the day of (not easy to do with me!) he and Gemma were supposed to meet me at bloomingdales holiday window opening and he bailed which I wasn't pleased about.. But then I ended up leaving earlier than I said i was going to and totally messed up his plan which was to grab me on my way home and propose on park avenue with a photographer present. Well, he saw me coming so he had to tell me to wait about ten minutes and then I realized it was happening!! I walked around the blocks and then met him knowing it was coming but still, when he grabbed me I had no idea the man standing on the area in the middle of park avenue was there to photograph the proposal. It was simple and romantic and completely joyous.

RRP&F: If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

M+R: We both do all sorts of silly and quirky things but mostly we have fun, especially with Gemma and our nearly nightly dance parties!

RRP&F: Besides getting married – what's the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

Celebrating our family and honoring one another and sharing the experience with loved ones.

RRP&F: Anything additional you'd like to add.

M+R: Getting married a mile from our weekend home with the most amazing people was a dream come true. Everything was picture perfect!! We couldn't have imagined anything better.

Mallory & Patrick - 1960's Inspired Engagement Session

It's always fun when a couple is up for trying something different. It all started with the 1963 Cadillac Fleetwood. I saw it parked in a parking lot a few weeks ago and told the owner that I really wanted to use her car for a photo shoot. She was more than willing and well...the rest is in the photos & video.

We're looking forward to Mallory & Patrick's wedding in October.

Eastern State Penitentiary

In the middle of wedding season it's rare that I find extra time to work on different and unique projects. On Tuesday, June 16th I was fortunate enough to visit Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. They open up the abandoned prison a few times a year to allow photographers to photograph in select areas.
Here are a few of the images created.

Angela & Al

It looks like the cold weather didn't stop this couple from bringing the love! We had planned this engagement session based on the forecast of a balmy 30 degrees when in reality, it was more like 15 with the wind chill. One thing is for sure, if we had this much fun for their engagement session, I really can't wait to photograph their wedding in October.
