It's not everyday that I'm asked to photograph a couple in over a dozen locations in one day, let alone on the day before their wedding.
Sam and Donna live in Singapore. Sam, who had lived in New York for several years, decided that the time was right to propose to his girlfriend. Now this was not just any proposal, he planned a two week trip to the greatest city in the world...The Big Apple! When I was first contacted by Sam in November, we talked about capturing the proposal and then maybe an engagement session to follow. Over the next few weeks his ideas quickly grew and he shared them with me to get some feedback. You see, Sam decided to propose on Christmas Eve at the top of the Empire State Building and then get married at City Hall on New Year's Eve, all of which was a surprise to Donna.
Instead of having me capture their engagement, he wanted to do a bridal session before the wedding. The only problem is that he couldn't narrow down the locations. He wanted the big, iconic NY landmarks that are recognized all over the world. The Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Lincoln Center...well, you get the idea. So I immediately got to planning. What took place on Monday, December 30th is a memory that they'll (and I'll) never forget. Let's just say that after shooting for almost 15 hours, I think they have all the images (and then some) that they wanted.
Sam and Donna were married on Tuesday, December 31st at City Hall. They are an AMAZINGLY cute couple and I'm so happy that the team and I had the opportunity to meet them. I'll let the sneak peek speak for itself.
Happy New Year and congratulations to Sam and Donna!
